Next Bethesda Game After Skyrim

Microsoft just bought ZeniMax Media, which is the mother company of Bethesda, ID, Arkane and all games released under the Bethesda umbrella. This is by far the biggest acquired studio by Team Xbox and conveniently, creating a lot of buzz just 16 hours before the pre-orders go live for Xbox Series X. It's a great marketing move, but that's not the interesting stuff to talk about.

Skyrim mod Wyrmstooth, considered one of the best new lands mods for Bethesda's fantasy game ever created, has returned after a five-year exile. The sequel to id Software's 2016 Doom is Bethesda's headlining act this year, and it.

Now in this article I'm going to speculate on what might happen to all the Bethesda IP's, after all, I don't work for either Microsoft, ZeniMax or any of their child companies, but that won't stop me from speculating.

First the easybit, Nintendo and Xbox have been in a good relationship (for Nintendo) for a whileknow, releasing Super Lucky Tales and Minecraft Dungeons on the NintendoSwitch. I don't think Microsoft will likely scrap franchises like DOOM and Wolfensteinfrom releasing on Nintendo Switch (provided they actually develop new gameswith those IP's). Larger games like Elder Scrolls 5 and a potential Fallout 6 mightbe a different story, but mostly because of hardware limitations.

Ipersonally don't think a lot will change for Nintendo players when it comes toBethesda games.

One of 2things can happen.

Xbox isgoing to make tons of money selling games on PlayStation (and maybe forcing apayment out of Sony for the big IP's like an Elder Scrolls 6 down the line)basically penetrating the PlayStation community with big main stream games.

Or

Xbox willlure in fans of the big series, keeping the titles exclusive to Xbox/PC (andmaybe Switch).

Both aresmart decisions for Microsoft, depending on there plans with the new studio's,weather that's going for the straight up cash flow or trying to lure in abigger community that hopefully sticks around for other games, potentiallyearning Microsoft even more down the line. Option 1 would be saver and Option 2would be bolder and I personally think that Xbox will go with keeping the gamesexclusive to the Microsoft family.

This wouldbe for the simple reason that Microsoft is in second place and promised torelease more exclusive on the new generation. Because as a die-hard Xbox fan I cancertainly admit the line up on the One in a lot of ways has been lack lusterand with the new studio's that could certainly change. Hence why I thinkBethesda games won't be releasing on PlayStation any more, but of course, onlytime can tell.

For keeneyed Game pass users, you probably found out that Bethesda's many games on Gamepass have slowly been getting removed. Prey, Wolfenstein the New Colossus, Wolfensteinthe new Order, Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition have all left the Game passsubscription with Dishonored 2 leaving soon. I wouldn't blame the seller of ZeniMaxto force that decision just to get a better deal out of Xbox, and allpreviously mentioned games could easily be seen in Game Pass again soon.

Dependingon what will happen with Switch releases, the fact Xbox was planning ondropping Xbox Live on Switch combined with the achievements that some Microsoftgames already have on Switch, I can actually see a Switch Game Pass become athing and maybe allow for the Switch to be a supported device for Streaming andX Cloud as well.

Consideringthat now Wolfenstein Young Blood, Wolfenstein II, Super Lucky Tales, Minecraft,Minecraft Dungeons, Elder Scrolls Skyrim, DOOM and the Ori franchise are onNintendo Switch and now all Xbox owned, is it that farfetched?

Potentiallythat could also happen with PlayStation, but I think it's more likely to see Portal3 confirmed and released tomorrow than Sony signing off on that.

The futurefor Xbox Series X is bright with signings like these, and with the pre-ordersrolling out tomorrow, there isn't a better moment to drop this info. Regardlessof what Xbox will do with Bethesda, there are plenty of ways to make Xbox a strongercompetitor and bring in some good money to the company down the line.

Skyrim players on PS5 can finally boost Bethesda's game up to 60 frames per second on Sony's next-gen console, while still obtaining Trophies.

You can see the Skyrim mod in action for the PS5 just below, courtesy of mod author Wrighton (and first reported by Eurogamer). While the mod can also be downloaded for the PS4 version of Bethesda's game, PSN Trophies can still function while using the mod, thanks to a special trick.

Firstly, head to Skyrim's in-game mod menu, and find the 60FPS mod depicted in the video just above. Next, you want to boot up a current or new game of Skyrim, then head back to the game's main menu. After this, delete the mod itself, and the game will still run at 60FPS on PS5.

It's a relief that enabling and then deleting the mod still lets Skyrim run at 60FPS, if a little odd. Remember that installing mods with Skyrim on consoles disables Achievements/Trophies from being earned, so you'll want to make sure any additional mods are also deleted if you're after that Platinum Trophy.

Back in December, a report emerged analyzing the performance of 60FPS mods on next-gen consoles for Skyrim. The report found that while the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S versions of Skyrim could run at 60FPS thanks to a mod, there was no such mod available at the time for the PS5 version. Thankfully though, that's all changed now, so PS5 players can get up to par with their Xbox counterparts for some sublime action.
